Phu Tho Province Strategy for the Years 2021- 2030, with a Vision for the Year 2050: One center - two economic corridors - three advances in development - four major duties
On February 21, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment (MPI) Tran Quoc Phuong presided over a meeting of the Phu Tho Province Planning Appraisal Council for the period 2021- 2030, with a view to 2050.

The conference was presided over by Tran Quoc Phuong - Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment and Vice Chairperson of the Appraisal Council.
The summary report on Phu Tho Province Planning for 2021- 2030, with a vision to 2050, delivered during the Conference revealed that: The plan is based on five development perspectives: promoting effective potential, the strength of the Ancestral Land; strengthening links between localities in the Northern Midlands and Mountains and the Hanoi Capital region; transforming the development model from scattered, small to centralized; effectively mobilizing and using resources, with a focus on infrastructure development; and closely combining socio-economic development and security assurance.

The province of Phu Tho has development hubs such as One center - Two economic axes (corridors). In such case: Viet Tri enlarged urban area, a grade I urban area, is an important hub of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region, with an emphasis on promoting the role of a festival city that returns to Vietnamese ethnic origins. Two economic axes (corridors), including: the East-West axis related with the economic corridor along the Noi Bai-Lao Cai highway and the current NH.2D route; and an inter-regional road linking the Ho Chi Minh road, NH.70B, and NH.32C to Yen Bai province. The North-South axis is associated with the economic corridor along the North-South Expressway to the east (Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway, the highway section of Co Tiet - Cho Ben, Hoa Binh); part of NH.2; the road connecting NH.32C with NH.70B to Hoa Binh province; and the road connecting NH.32C with NH.70B to Hoa Binh province; Vinh Lai Bridge; Tinh Cuong Bridge.
The master plan identifies three development breakthroughs for Phu Tho, with the goal of making it the leading development province in the Northern Midlands and Mountains by 2030: administrative reform and improvement of management capacity local governance; development of professional and technical human resources and high-quality human resources; and continued improvement of the infrastructure system. Simultaneously, four key tasks are proposed: transforming Phu Tho into a center of the Northwest sub-region in four areas: tourism, health care, education, trade, logistics associated with agricultural processing, forest products; preserving and promoting the region"s historical and cultural values; modernizing production, business, and organization; and effectively attracting capital from outside the province.
Based on the province“s current state of socioeconomic development from 2011 to 2020, the Phu Tho Provincial Planning Report clarified the province”s strengths, weaknesses, roles, and positions in the Midland and Northern mountainous regions; organized, allocated space, and restructured economic sectors and resources to realize appropriate basic development goals; and fully utilized the province"s ability and opportunities to link with other provinces.

An overview of the working session
The Appraisal Council adopted the Phu Tho province plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, with 26/26 votes in favor, attaining 100%, with the condition that revisions and supplements be made.
Chairman Bui Van Quang would like to thank the delegates for their enthusiasm and responsibility in participating in opinions and affirming that, based on the opinion, conclusions, and direction of the conference"s Chairman, opinions of Council members, reviewers, Phu Tho province will fully absorb, have a report explaining each content, send to ask for unanimous opinions of Council members to be assessed according to regulations before implementing. The province aspires to continue receiving the attention of central ministries and branches, assisting Phu Tho province in the process of finishing, revising, and submitting for approval to the Prime Minister. At the same time, Chairman Bui Van Quang urged that central ministries and branches focus on resolving a number of issues, therefore providing ideal conditions for Phu Tho province to make achievements in the future.
Speaking at the Conference“s conclusion, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong praised the viewpoints of experts and Council members, as well as the spirit of market demand in Phu Tho province”s growth and completion of the planning. Simultaneously, it is proposed that Phu Tho province organize a review of new regulations, guidelines, and trends in socioeconomic development, regional development, national master plan, regional planning orientation, and so on in order to avoid contradictions or conflicts; study and fully absorb the opinions of ministries, branches, and reviewers in order to complete the master plan on quality assurance and progress and submit it to the Prime Minister for approval.
