Developing handcraft sector is one way to support economic restructuring and transform the face of rural area. Many traditional jobs have been encouraged, new occupations have been established in response to market demands, and craft village industrial clusters have been built, bringing rural handcraft businesses to success.
Mr. Ha Van Quan’s household’s wooden furniture production plant in Nam Dau region, Van Du commune, Doan Hung district created regular job for 10 locals employees.
Handicraft production activities in the province are mostly focused on industries such as processing agricultural goods, food, textiles, manufacturing building materials, handicrafts, and mechanics. Over 20,000 manufacturing establishments are now in operation.
Vocational training connected with developing on-site jobs for employees is of importance to all levels and industries in order to build a stable, skilled labor base. Many communities have factories and textile processing facilities, which help to provide jobs and provide a consistent income for employees, particularly women in rural regions.
Craft villages with traditional crafts and vocations are still maintained alongside the emergence of modern handcraft enterprises. The province as a total contains 75 designated artisan villages, of which 71 are operationally stable, employing almost 16,800 people, including over 11,700 permanent employees. The total revenue of artisan villages is anticipated to be more than 1,000 billion VND each year. To address the demands of collaboration and large-scale manufacturing, the craft village formed 25 firms and 11 cooperatives.
Handicraft development in rural regions is critical for industrial clusters. Investing in infrastructure and building industrial clusters encourages corporations to invest in local industries and handicrafts. In addition, operational industrial clusters assist to economic and labor restructuring by overcoming fragmented production and enabling environmental management and control. There are 26 industrial clusters in the province that have been formed, extended, and implemented in order to invest in infrastructure building and attract production and commercial ventures. Over 160 investment projects have been lured to industrial clusters, with 120 of them now operational, employing over 20,000 people.
Faced with rising market demands, handicraft establishments that wish to expand sustainably must continue to encourage the application of science and technology, have a suitable division of labor, and produce highly competitive goods and groups. Furthermore, functional branches assist artisan communities, cooperative organizations, and corporate entities in developing trademarks and owning industrial designs. Simultaneously, provide circumstances for businesses to take advantage of possibilities to build the digital economy, e-commerce, increase productivity, quality, and competitiveness, and successfully implement the economic integration plan.
