The Asian Pao Festival, celebrating Asian cuisine and culture, was held in Sakai City, Japan, on June 28.

The Vietnamese Association in the Kansai region took an active part in the event as an official supporting partner, contributing to the promotion of people-to-people exchanges and international integration.
Participation in international cultural exchange programmes is of great significance. It not only helps to promote the image of Viet Nam but also brings stronger mutual understanding and closer ties between the Vietnamese community and Japanese society, as well as other international communities.
The festival brought together representatives from numerous countries and international communities that are living, studying, and working in Japan. It offered a vibrant multicultural setting, combining live performances, traditional cuisine, and immersive cultural activities showcasing the distinctive heritage of Asian nations.
As a supporting partner, the Vietnamese Association in the Kansai region played an active role in the festival by organising a range of cultural and artistic activities that fostered people-to-people exchanges and international integration.
The presence of the Vietnamese community at the event not only reflects its strong sense of unity but also highlights the increasingly prominent role of Vietnamese people in community activities across Japan.
At the festival, the association presented two performances showcasing Viet Nam's rich cultural identity. Both performances were choreographed and staged by the association's performing arts troupe. The performances left a lasting impression on the international audience while promoting the image of a country with a rich cultural heritage and enduring traditions.
The event also featured performing arts groups from several other countries, whose colourful performances reflected the cultural diversity of the international community in Japan. Together, these performances created a vivid cultural exchange, giving each participating nation the opportunity to showcase its unique traditions to an international audience.

In addition to the stage performances, the festival's food area attracted large numbers of visitors. Stalls representing various Asian countries offered a wide selection of signature dishes, providing visitors with a rich culinary experience.
According to Le Thuong, Chairwoman of the Vietnamese Association in the Kansai region, participation in international cultural exchange programmes plays an important role in promoting the image of Viet Nam while strengthening understanding and connections between the Vietnamese community, Japanese society, and people from other countries.
As international integration continues to deepen, cultural events such as the Asian Pao Festival serve as an important bridge in helping young Vietnamese living in Japan gain a deeper appreciation of their roots while giving them the confidence to introduce their national identity in a multicultural environment.
