On September 15, a working delegation of Phu Tho province led by Mr. Bui Minh Chau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, Head of the Provincial Delegation to the National Assembly visited and worked in Nara province and the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka, Japan.
Welcoming and working with the delegation were the Governor YAMASHITA Makoto and Mr. IWATA Kunio - Chairman of Nara Provincial Council, along with representatives of agency leaders.
The two provinces of Phu Tho - Nara have been exchanging since the end of 2012 and in 2014 signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the fields of Economic Investment, Culture, Education - Training, Tourism... in order to promote the potentials and strengths for the socio-economic development of both sides. From 2013 up to now, the two provinces have had many exciting foreign affairs activities, regularly having delegation exchange activities. Phu Tho province is an active member of the East Asia Local and Regional Government Congress held annually in Nara province; The province sent delegations of high-ranking officials to attend the Congresses in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2022.
Leaders of Phu Tho province and Nara province have agreed that in the coming time, they will regularly organize working delegations to promote practical and highly effective friendly cooperation. Nara province commits to supporting Phu Tho province to invite Japanese businesses to invest in the fields of: Infrastructure construction of industrial parks and industrial complexes; High-tech industry; Mechanical engineering; Electrical and electronic assembly; Chemical and pharmaceutical industry,...; supporting Phu Tho province to export some of the province’s strong products such as tea, wood, lacquer, agricultural products and foods, supporting industries, precision mechanics, electronic components... to Nara; supporting Phu Tho in finding Japanese partners and businesses to invest in infrastructure in tourist areas such as Ao Chau Lagoons, Thanh Thuy hot spring tourist area, Xuan Son National Park, and golf courses in Phu Tho....; creating conditions for the province to access ODA loans to invest in the fields of infrastructure, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, and improving people’s lives.
In particular, in the field of education, based on the proposal of Phu Tho province, Nara province will research and set a form of cooperation between universities, colleges, and high schools of the two provinces, especially the study abroad programs, educational seminars for lecturers, teachers and students to interact, learn and exchange experiences in teaching and scientific research; open Japanese scholarship programs to support Phu Tho province to improve the quality of human resources.
