The Viet Nam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee on July 1 welcomed a delegation of outstanding teachers and students from the Nguyen Du Lao-Vietnamese bilingual school based in Vientiane, Laos, during their visit to Viet Nam from June 29 to July 3.

Over the years, the school has continued efforts to preserve and promote the Vietnamese language and culture among the Vietnamese community in Laos, while educating generations of students to become active contributors to society.
Speaking at the reception in the central coastal city of Da Nang, Vice President of the VFF Central Committee Hoang Cong Thuy reaffirmed that the Party, State and Viet Nam Fatherland Front consistently attach importance to Vietnamese communities overseas, including those in Laos.
He expressed hope that the bilingual school would continue serving as a bridge for preserving the Vietnamese language and cultural identity while strengthening the special friendship between Viet Nam and Laos across generations.
Thuy commended teachers for their achievements in education and research, and praised the students selected to represent thousands of pupils at the school during the visit to their homeland.
He described the journey as a meaningful opportunity for participating teachers and students to gain a deeper understanding of Viet Nam’s history, culture and traditions of nation building and defence.
According to him, these experiences would help students strengthen their connections with their roots and appreciate the sacrifices made by previous generations in securing independence and freedom and building a peaceful and prosperous Viet Nam as it is today.

In response, the school’s principal, Sivanheuang Phengkhammay, said the establishment had consistently received support from leaders of both Parties and States, as well as ministries, local authorities and organisations in Viet Nam and Laos throughout its development.
That support, she noted, has encouraged teachers and staff to continue improving educational quality and building a welcoming learning environment where students become proficient in Vietnamese while developing understanding and appreciation of the history and culture of both nations.
Before arriving in Da Nang, the delegation visited the Truong Son martyrs’ cemetery, the Road 9 national martyrs’ cemetery and the Quang Tri Citadel to pay tribute.
They also explored the Hue imperial city, the Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted, and museums connected to the life and legacy of President Ho Chi Minh.
The year 2027 will mark several major milestones in Viet Nam–Laos relations, including the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Viet Nam–Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.
The anniversaries are expected to provide further opportunities for younger generations to inherit, preserve and promote the values of the special relationship between the two countries.
