Vietnam - Laos friendship exchange in Australia

A friendship exchange was organized on September 14th by the Vietnamese and Lao Embassies in Australia to mark the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Amity and Cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia Ngo Huong Nam highlighted the special significance of 2017 for Vietnam and Laos. This is an opportunity for the two sides to review the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two parties, two states and two peoples.

He emphasized that the friendly relations show the close solidarity, cooperation and mutual support between the two embassies in Australia.

In his speech at the event, Lao Ambassador to Australia Phomma Khammanichanh affirmed that Vietnam and Laos have a great, long-standing, exemplary and rare relationship in the world. He believed that the two embassies will continue to strengthen cooperation and mutual assistance in foreign affairs in Australia, as well as make efforts to highlight the central role of ASEAN at regional and international forums.

During the exchange, the participants performed many special art items, sports activities and enjoyed traditional dishes of the two countries./.
